New Year red is a Syrah dominant blend from our clay rich Syrah block. It was made in a lighter-bodied style that can be chilled and enjoyed with tapas. We were inspired to make this wine after spending time in France and experiencing how commonplace lighter reds were. The Syrah used for this wine had the bright fruit aromas and restrained phenolic profile perfect for this style.

2020 was a fantastic season with a long hot and dry summer. Hand harvested bunches came into the winery and spent a week intact and sealed up with CO2 to encourage carbonic maceration. To keep the wine fresh we shortened up élevage by fermenting on skins for 4 days and ageing in old oak and stainless steel for 6 months before bottling.
